This oil is extracted from the rose seed. It has many benefits for the skin. Its scent is neutral, unlike the essential oil, which is extracted from the petal. Regular use of rosehip vegetable oil nourishes the skin and limits the effects of ageing.

INCI ingredients: Rosa rubiginosa seed oil

Size: 100ml

Directions for use:
Apply to the skin and massage with the fingertips in a circular motion until the rose oil is absorbed.

Scientific Research on Rosehip Oil:
1. Premature ageing During a two-year study conducted by a team of researchers from the faculty of chemistry and pharmacology at the University of "Concepcion", a prestigious university in Chile, the oil was applied to 180 patients with scars following surgery, burnt skin, and also to a group suffering from premature ageing of the skin. Rosehip was found to produce an effective regenerating action on the skin, helping to fade scars and wrinkles, preventing the progression of premature ageing, and restoring lost colour and tone.
Another report was published in 1988, entitled "contributions to the identification and application of the active components contained in Rosa rubiginosa". (DR B. Pareja, Lima, Horst de DR Kehl, Missouri).

2. Skin ageing caused by the action of the sun In other words photoageing, very common in all countries with a hot climate. For this study, the skin of 20 women aged 25 to 35, who usually spend 3 months of the summer on the beach, was assessed. Their intensely tanned skin showed wrinkles and brown spots on the eyelids. All applied rosehip oil to their face for four months. Changes were noted from the third week. The wrinkles and spots faded. The skin was smooth and fresh.

3. Rosehip oil applied to surgical scars Do not expect miracles, but an objective improvement, even in the case of an old scar. The results are better when the treatment is started early (do not apply . Many medical studies have shown the benefits associated with the use of rosehip oil on surgical scars.
Ten women aged 45 to 68 applied rosehip oil after the surgical stitches had been removed. After washing with soap and warm water and after careful drying, the oil was applied by gentle massage. After three months of applying the oil twice a day (morning and evening), the scars were less obvious, and the skin's elasticity had improved, while also improving the colour of the area. Observations were made for four months after the operations and the doctors indicated that the health of the skin improved considerably, allowing the implantation of the prosthesis or plastic surgery under better conditions than with patients who had not been treated. The doctors at the dermatology clinic of the University of Seville used rosehip oil, together with other therapies, to treat post-operative scars. Over approximately six months of use, the results were excellent in more than 90% of cases. With acne scars the results are also encouraging, even for marks present for more than 20 years (do not use the oil if the acne is still active).

4. Burnt skin In a study of 90 patients who had suffered burns, a four-month treatment with rosehip oil resulted in an improvement of the initial condition in 97% of cases. J. F. Oliver, testify in December 1996 in issue 25 of Graisses et Pétroles that: Doctor Leonardo Rusowsky, surgeon at the Enrique Deformes hospital in Santiago, Chile, and temporary president of the society for aid to burnt children, is currently researching the healing properties of rosehip oil and has stated that the texture, quality and elasticity of the skin improve, as does the colour of the scars.

5. Radiotherapy Dr Hans Harbst, Director of Radiology for the Air Force and Chilean oncologist at the Indisa clinic in Santiago, stated: "As a radiotherapist, I have worked with several patients who have been treated and consequently have scars. Furthermore, the radiation to which they are exposed can produce side effects on the skin such as inflammation, and stain the skin. These effects are, in most cases, unavoidable." He continued, "this is a problem for the patient, particularly when it concerns areas not concealed by clothing such as the face, the head or the neck. I have applied Rosehip oil on all skin types. Rosehip oil acts on scars, reducing hyperpigmentation, flattening hypertrophy (bulky scars). All these effects result in an almost complete attenuation of the scar."

In conclusion:

Rosehip oil regenerates and nourishes the skin, helping to attenuate wrinkles and skin blemishes.

Rosehip oil hydrates the upper layers of the epidermis, offering softness and freshness to the skin.

It limits the effects of ageing and can be used as an aid to attenuating scars.
